Once again, A Room of One’s Own in Madison, Wis., is a bookstore in transition. Founded by five young women in 1975, A Room relocated in 1997 and again in 2011, to a 6,000-square-foot retail space in Downtown Madison that previously housed Avol’s Books and, before that, Canterbury Bookstore.
